ASD Occluder
The Cocoon Septal Occluder is a self-expanding device used to close Atrial Septal Defects (ASD) with a unique platinum nanocoating. This coating enhances biocompatibility, radiopacity, and corrosion resistance, reducing risks of allergic reactions. The device features double discs made of nitinol and polypropylene fabric, which promote clot formation to seal the defect. It is designed for minimally invasive procedures, offering improved safety and faster recovery times.
ASD Occluder Features
01
Flexibility at the Disc Level
The Cocoon Septal Occluder provides high flexibility at the disc level, allowing it to adapt to varying septal thicknesses and defects. This feature enhances the device's positioning and reduces stress on the heart tissue during and after implantation.
03
Conformability at the Discs
With excellent conformability, the discs adapt seamlessly to the septal wall, ensuring optimal defect closure. This enhances procedural outcomes by providing a more secure fit even in challenging anatomies.
02
Softness to Protect
The device's soft disc edges are designed to minimise trauma to surrounding heart structures. This softness ensures patient safety by reducing the risk of complications like erosion or tissue damage.
04
Designed to Minimise Nickel Leaching
The Cocoon Occluder’s unique platinum nanocoating helps to minimise nickel leaching, addressing concerns about nickel sensitivity. This coating also improves the device's durability and biocompatibility, offering long-term safety.
PFO Occluder
The Cocoon PFO Occluder, is a self-expanding, self-centering double-disc device designed for the closure of Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO). It features an innovative platinum nanocoating applied via plasma deposition, which enhances biocompatibility, radiopacity, and minimises nickel leaching, reducing the risk of allergic reactions. This device is filled with polypropylene fabric to support thrombogenicity and offers the flexibility of recapture and redeployment during procedures.
